I felt the urge to actually cook tonight
Published on November 19, 2005 By SSG Geezer In Cooking
Here is the core of my dinner this evening, since i finally got my new kitchen where I could actually use it to cook. (I just moved out to west texas 2 weeks ago)

I admit the wild rice is cheater, Uncle B's, but since it is easy and i love it.....
The basting sauce is Makers Mark bourbon, Honey, Butter, garlic, and Salt and pepper, With White pepper added because I prefer it.
Here is a link to the recipe, but the timing they use is not really long enough to cook the game hen thoroughly so use a meat thermometer.

I can do a lot more with food than I usually bother but the bird looked pretty good so I thought I'd share a pic and recipe.

Yum!

If you're ever in my neck of the woods come over and I'll make you my bananas foster.  It's been described as 'sex on a plate'...(not that I'd be suggesting anything by that, I'm happily married and so are you)

I know you are but what I am remains to be determined. but... Bananas Foster sounds interesting.
I thought it worked pretty well and Cyrano got a few scraps. He found the first couple too hot so from then on he whacked each piece in his bowl to test for temp before picking it up in his mouth. Funny to watch.

Hahaha!  Our cat does the same thing.  Treats the food like it's the enemy until it cools....v. funny to watch.

You're getting an email from me today, btw.

Nice job Geez. Seems you are feeding you and your animal well.

Is that a West Texas free range chicken or an HEB chicken?

that does look yummy!

I'm so tired out from attending 3 Thanksgiving dinners that
I'm dining on instant mashed potatoes with salt and pepper and
frozen green beans ( cooked of course) and

THAT'S ALL TONIGHT!

maybe by tomorrow I'll actually cook again....
